Since practicing golf, Zhang Weiwei has won many amateur competitions, including the 2010 Amateur Chengdu Championship, the 2011 National Amateur Golf Hope Zhejiang Haining Station Championship and so on.

Not only that, Zhang Weiwei's performance in the women's professional arena is also perfect. In 2015, Zhang Weiwei won the runner-up at the Zhuhai Classic in her early professional time and entered the top ten in several competitions.

In 2017, Zhang Weiwei achieved a career breakthrough and won Hengqin Phoenix Tree Building Orient Golf Challenge in March. In June of the same year, 20-year-old Zhang Weiwei defeated Japanese player Gu Hezhi Lizi in the Sky Women's ABC Cup play-off held in the ABC Golf Club in Hyogo to realize the first victory of the JSU Tournament. At the end of the same year, Zhang Weiwei became a member of the 2018 season JLPGA Tour, becoming the ninth female player in mainland China to achieve this achievement.

For a long time on the JLPGA Tour the Japanese media claimed that Zhang Weiwei was a beautiful lady. At the same time, due to the sweet and pleasing appearance and the average driving distance of 255 yards, the domestic golf enthusiasts also called Zhang Weiwei "violent lolita".
