As the former captain of the Chinese women's golf team, Li Jiayun led the team won the group silver medal in 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, achieving the historical breakthrough of the Chinese women's golf at Asian Games.
In her amateur time, she has achieved outstanding results. She won the championship in the China Women's Amateur Open and the "Golden Cup" first national golf tournament.
In 2010, Li Jiayun appeared in the China Women's Professional Tour Shanghai Classic, won the runner-up with three rounds of total score, and won the title of best amateur.
In February 2011, Li Jiayun officially turned professional, won the championship in the "Wonderful in the Wow" Cup China Golf Pro-Am, and achieved a career breakthrough, winning the CLPGA Tour Best Professional Rookie Award. In the 2014 season, Li Jiayun won her first CLPGA Tour’s championship in the Shanghai Classic. In the 2016 Le Coq Sportif Beijing Ladies Classic, Li Jiayun made a Hole-in-One at the second round, winning the third round and winning the second championship in her career.
In the 2017 and 2018 seasons, she was among the top ten many times.
